Der W - Höher, schneller, Weidner
Stephan Weidner, einst der Kopf der Bösen Onkelz und von mir zu tiefst verachtet (!), ist meiner Meinung nach immer noch ein Scheißkerl ... aber auf seinem aktuellen Soloalbum nach der Trennung von den Onkelz, ist einfach ein Song drauf der es mir neben den anderen besonders angetan hat. Und warum? Weil er einfach wahr ist! "Bitte töte mich" heißter und ist einer von vielen guten Songs auf dem Album.
Fazit: Weidner scheiße, Onkelz scheiße ... das Album "Höher, schneller, Weidner" ... große Klasse

Klingt an manchen Stellen echt wie HIM, ist aber irgendwie cooler. Zufallskauf und Glück gehabt, kann ich aber eigentlich guten Gewissens empfehlen, wenn mal E-Gitarre sein muss, die Bude dabei aber stehen bleiben soll
Schandmaul - Anderswelt
Beim ersten Reinhören hat's mir nicht sofort zugesagt und bleibt auch weiterhin kritisch (Ähnlich wie KoRn's Untitled-Album). Muss man sicher häufiger hören ... was mir aber aufgefallen ist ist, dass viele Textzeilen Deja-Vu-Momente auslösen. Schade eigentlich ... aber für 'ne Handvoll Cola-Codes kann man da echt nicht meckern ...

Hate Squad - Deguello Wartunes
Erinnert vom Sound her stark an die gute alte Grind Bastard von Benediction, kann aber bei übermäßigem Konsum schneller langweilen, ansonstigen sehr grooviger Thrash/ Death Metal aus Hannover, aus denen mir bislang nur die Excrementory Grindfuckers als hervorstechende Band bekannt waren.
Firewind - The Premonition
Wunderbarer Powermetal aus Griechenland, den ich nur durch Zufall gefunden habe, als ich nach dem 80er Klassiker Maniac, von Michael Sembello, gesucht habe. Auf The Premonition befindet sich als Bonustrack eine gut gelungene Metal-Coverversion selbigen Songs im Stil von At Vance.
Cryptopsy - The Unspoken King
Als Drummer freu ich mich natürlich über Scheiben, auf denen Helden wie der Kanadier Flo Mounier die Kessel dreschen - also hab ich mir auf Anraten eines Bandkollegen mal die neue Cryptopsy zugelegt. Durch den neuen Sänger bedingt geht der Gesang auch Stellenweise mal weg vom Death Metal ins melodische, aber ich hab die CD noch nicht wirklich oft genug gehört um objektiv urteilen zu können ... das Wetter beschränkt da momentan meine Laune für Geböller

MÖTLEY CRÜE - Saints of Los Angeles
Die Ur-Großväter des Glamrock sind seit Dienstag mit ihrem aktuellen Album "Saints of Los Angeles" zurück und ich freu mir als Mötley Crüe-Greenhorn ein zweites Po-Loch
Ohne Zweifel klingt die Band nicht mehr wie noch zum Ende der 80er Jahre, als man noch jede Killerniete, jede Röhrenjeans und jede einzelne Dose Haarsprey in jeder Note fühlen konnte ... aber will sie das überhaupt?
Leider fehlt mir in meiner Sammlung noch die letzte unter Verwendung der Urbesetzung entstandene Scheibe, "Generation Swine", aus dem Jahr 1997, um objektiv mein Urteil über eine Weiterentwicklung der Band abgeben zu können - aber an und für sich halte ich die Songs schon für eine Ecke reifer und ausgefeilter als noch zu Glamrock-Zeiten ... auch wenn Vince Neil's Stimme natürlich für heutige Verhältnisse einige Tonlagen zu hoch ist
Es findet sich zwar kein Dr. Feelgood und kein Girls, Girls, Girls auf der Platte ... aber stattdessen gibt es Songs mit Hymnen-Status (Saints of Los Angeles), Balladen (The Animal in Me/ Down at the Whisky) und Uptempo-Rock-Songs zum mitgröhlen (Welcome to the Machine/ Face Down in the Dirt). Und natürlich wäre es kein Mötley Crüe-Album, wenn es in den Texten nicht um Alkohol und Frauen geht (Chicks = Trouble/ This ain't a Love Song)
